ENGINE & TRANSMISSION LIMITED WARRANTY
At JDM Midwest Motor Depot LLC, we take pride in supplying quality used Japanese-imported engines and transmissions. Because these are used automotive components, normal wear should be expected. This Limited Warranty outlines exactly what is covered, what is not covered, and the responsibilities of both parties.
Please read this document carefully before installation.
1. LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE
JDM Midwest warrants that the internal head and block components of the engine or transmission sold will be in serviceable operating condition at the time of sale and during the applicable warranty period.
-Covered Components (Internal Parts Only)
Coverage is strictly limited to internal components of the head and block, including but not limited to:
* Pistons * Connecting rods * Crankshaft * Camshaft(s) * Main bearings * Internal seals * Head gasket * Valves.
This warranty applies only to failures that prevent proper operation of the engine or transmission due to defects in the covered internal components.
2. COMPONENTS SOLD “AS IS” (NO WARRANTY)
All external, electrical, and accessory components are sold “AS IS” without warranty coverage.
This includes, but is not limited to:
* Sensors and wiring * ECU (engine computer) * Turbochargers / Superchargers * Alternator, starter * Power steering pump * A/C compressor * Intake and exhaust manifolds * Fuel system components * Timing components * Belts, hoses, filters * Clutch, flywheel * Oil pan, valve covers * Emission control devices.
External components may require servicing, replacement, or transfer from your original engine.
3. WARRANTY PERIOD
-Standard Engines & Transmissions
* 30–90 Day Limited Warranty
* Coverage begins on date of purchase
-Performance / Forced Induction Applications
(Engines equipped with turbo or supercharged systems)
* 30 Day Limited Warranty
* Internal head and block coverage only
-Rotary Engines
* All rotary engines and transmissions are sold “AS IS”
* No warranty coverage applies
-Out-of-State Purchases
For shipped orders, warranty begins on the confirmed delivery date.
All units must be installed within the warranty period.
4. PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION REQUIREMENT
To protect both the customer and JDM Midwest:
* Installation must be performed by a licensed or ASE-certified mechanic.
* Proof of professional installation is required for any warranty claim.
* Failure to provide documentation may result in denial of coverage.
* Improper installation voids warranty.
JDM Midwest does not provide installation technical support and is not responsible for installation errors.
5. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES (REQUIRED SERVICE PROCEDURES)
To maintain warranty eligibility, the customer must:
* Flush the oil system and replace the oil pump
* Replace timing belt/chain and tensioners
* Perform cooling system overhaul
* Use manufacturer-recommended fluids
* Use OEM or dealer-approved transmission fluid only
Failure to perform these preventative measures may void warranty coverage.
6. WARRANTY VOID CONDITIONS
This Limited Warranty will be void if any of the following occur:
* Improper installation
* Lack of lubrication or oil pressure
* Overheating (unless directly caused by internal component failure)
* Use of aftermarket or non-approved fluids (transmission)
* Internal disassembly of engine or transmission
* Modification, tuning, or forced induction not originally designed for the engine
* Nitrous or alcohol injection systems
* Swapping internal components
* Removal of cylinder head(s) or transmission casing
* Abuse, racing, or misuse
Normal wear and tear are not considered a defect.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
This warranty is limited strictly to the replacement, or refund of the defective component at JDM Midwest’s discretion.
JDM Midwest is not responsible for:
* Labor costs
* Installation or removal charges
* Shipping charges
* Return freight
* Rental vehicles
* Loss of income or business
* Consequential or incidental damages
Maximum liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product.
8. FITMENT & APPLICATION DISCLAIMER
It is the customer’s responsibility to verify compatibility prior to purchase.
JDM Midwest is not responsible for:
* Incorrect engine or transmission selection
* Fitment issues
* ECU/wiring incompatibility
* Emissions compliance
* Smog or state inspection failure
Customers must confirm compliance with local laws before purchase.
9. DEFECTIVE CLAIM PROCEDURE
If a covered internal defect is suspected:
Required documentation must be submitted before expiration of warranty period to:

Required Documentation:
* Written diagnostic report from ASE-certified mechanic
* Clear photo/video of symptoms or component
* Copy of mechanic’s ASE certification
* Mechanic’s contact information
JDM Midwest reserves the right to inspect or request return of the complete unit.
Customer is responsible for return shipping.
If approved, JDM Midwest may:
* Replace or issue a refund for defective unit only
If customer refuses exchange after approval, a 35% restocking fee may apply.
Returned units must be fully assembled and complete.
10. SALES & SHIPPING POLICY
* No refunds on non-defective units
* 35% restocking fee on refused or returned orders
* Customer responsible for all freight charges
* $45 fee for returned checks
* Shipping damage claims must be filed with carrier
11. USED ACCESSORIES
All accessories, body parts, suspension components, interior parts, and miscellaneous items are sold “AS IS” – No warranty – No returns.
JDM Midwest Motor Depot LLC reserves the right to modify this warranty at any time. The applicable warranty is the version in effect at the date of purchase.
